Youth Writing Challenge

Youth Writing Challenge

Deadline extended to March 31, in response to Spring Break travel!!

The Klondike Sun is looking for youth writing. If your work is published, you’ll earn Dawson Dollars!

Share your made-up tales or tell us about your personal experiences in Dawson City or anywhere you’ve been. Topics can include sports stories, pet anecdotes, history notes, your favourite bike trip, fashion tips, the best recipe or design for birthday cake – and so much more.

Send your fiction and non-fiction writing to us at klondikesun@northwestel,.net by March 24. Please be sure to include your name, the story title, and your age. Writers between ages 8 – 12 will receive $30 Dawson Dollars; writers between ages 13 – 18 will receive $50 Dawson Dollars.

We will select from the submissions and publish 18 – 20 pieces. The first will be published in April, and then one or two each issue throughout the summer.

Word limits: 200-word minimum, 1500-word maximum.

The Klondike Sun is grateful to the Klondike Visitors Association for the KVA Grant supporting this project.
